Federal Decree-Law No. 14\/2020 was published in the UAE Official Gazette on 30 September 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The most significant amendments in Federal Decree-Law No. 14\/2020, in respect of the regulation of cheques, divide into two<br>categories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first category addresses enhanced rights, from a commercial viewpoint, which increase the effectiveness of cheques as instruments of enforcement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second category relates to modifications in applicable criminal consequences in relation to cheques which are wholly or partially dishonoured.
